When Should This Patient Take His Blood Pressure Medication?

Mr. P is a 55 year old man who has had three blood pressure (BP) readings in the 150-160 systolic over 90-100 diastolic over the past two months. Despite changes in his diet and exercise regimen, his BP has remained elevated, and reluctantly he has agreed to start a medication for his elevated BP. Together you decide to initiate treatment with an ACE inhibitor.
