Medicis recalls Solodyn

Medicis has voluntarily recalled two lots of Solodyn (minocycline HCl extended-release tablets) 90mg because one of the bottles contained Azasan (azathioprine tablets, from Salix) 75mg. Medicis advises that ample supplies of Solodyn remain on the market and health care providers may continue to prescribe Solodyn.

Azasan is an immunosuppressive agent used in transplant patients to prevent kidney rejection and for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. Solodyn is indicated to treat inflammatory lesions of non-nodular moderate-to-severe acne.
