Glucose Test Strips Labeling Error Prompts Recall

Diabetic Supply of Suncoast has initiated a nationwide voluntary recall of all BMB-BA006A Advocate Redi-Code + blood glucose test strip lots manufactured by BroadMaster Bio-Tech Corp.

The recall is due to a labeling error to avoid confusion about which meter models the Redi-Code+ BMB-BA006A test strips are meant to be used with. The recalled labeling omitted the following test strips model “BMB-BA006A.” This error may lead users to use the test strips with the Advocate Redi-Code blood glucose meters, model numbers TD-32223E, TD-4223E, TD-4223F, TD-4276 manufactured by Taidoc Technology.

Misuse of the Advocate RediCode+ blood glucose test strips with the Taidoc meters may result in incorrect glucose results. This may lead to potentially missed or delayed hyperglycemia or hypoglycemia detection. A delay in treatment can lead to significant health consequences, including death.

Consumers with the affected test strips can contact the Company directly to determine if the test strips are being used in the proper manor or if they need to be returned to Suncoast for replacement. Suncoast is also notifying distributors, pharmacies, medical supply stores, and healthcare providers about the recall.
