FDA Issues Warning on Four Tainted Weight Loss Supplements

The FDA has warned consumers to not buy or use the weight loss supplements Oxy ELITE Pro Super Thermogenic, Nine Slim, Seven Slim, and Botanical Slimming (Red) after they were found to contain undeclared drug ingredients.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has warned consumers to not buy or use the following weight loss supplements after they were found to contain undeclared drug ingredients:

  • Oxy ELITE Pro Super Thermogenic
  • Nine Slim
  • Seven Slim
  • Botanical Slimming (Red)

Oxy ELITE Pro Super Thermogenic (Lot# 216732, exp. date 04/17) and Botanical Slimming (Red) were found to contain fluoxetine, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) approved to treat depression, bulimia, obsessive-compulsive disorders, panic disorder, and premenstrual dysphonic disorder. SSRIs have been linked to serious adverse effects such as suicidal thinking, abnormal bleeding, and seizures. Ventricular arrhythmia or sudden death can occur in patients taking concomitant aspirin, ibuprofen, antidepressants, and other drugs.
