Ethex has expanded its voluntary recall of morphine sulfate extended-release tablets to include specific lots of their 30mg dosage strength as well as additional lots of their 60mg dosage strength. Ethex initiated the recall as a precaution due to the possible presence of oversized tablets containing higher doses of morphine. The recalled lots were distributed between June 2006 and May 2008. At this time, there have been no reports of unexpected side effects or injuries.
Extended-release morphine sulfate tablets are indicated for prolonged relief of moderate-to-severe pain.
