YoungYou International announced a voluntary recall of Mega Slim Herbal Appetite Management pills after an FDA laboratory report indicated DMAA presence. The FDA has warned that DMAA, also known as geranium extract, is an unapproved dietary ingredient.

DMAA (1,3-dimethylamylamine, methylhexanamine) is commonly used as a stimulant, pre-workout, and weight loss ingredient in dietary supplements. The FDA is warning that DMAA can be harmful as it may increase blood pressure or cause other cardiovascular effects (eg, shortness of breath, chest tightening, heart attack).

Mega Slim Herbal Appetite Management pills are packaged as white capsules in 30-count bottles. The affected products have Lot # 736211614094 with an expiration date of June 2014. The product was sold from September 15, 2013 through January 23, 2014.

Consumers are to discontinue use immediately and return the product to YoungYou. YoungYou is also notifying its customers by email and asking for return of all recalled products.
