The Death Wish Coffee Co. has initiated a recall of its 11oz cans of Death Wish Nitro Cold Brew due to a possibility that the current production process can lead to the growth of botulin.

The Company reached the decision with an outside Process Authority, who determined that their manufacturing process could potentially produce the deadly toxin in low-acid foods in reduced oxygen packaging. Botulism can cause general weakness, dizziness, double-vision, and trouble with speaking or swallowing; it may also be fatal. Other common symptoms include difficulty breathing, weakness of other muscles, abdominal distention, and constipation.

“Our customers’ safety is of paramount importance and Death Wish Coffee is taking this significant, proactive step to ensure that the highest quality […] thus we are taking this measure of recalling all Death Wish Nitro cans from shelves,” said Death Wish Coffee Co. owner, Mike Brown.
