Daytrana patches recalled by Shire

Shire is voluntarily recalling five lots and withdrawing one lot of Daytrana (methylphenidate transdermal system) due to difficulty removing the release liner from some of the patches. This recall is not due to safety issues. All Daytrana patches can continue to be used unless the release liner cannot be removed or the patches are damaged while being opened.

The following five lots are being recalled:

• Daytrana 20mg – 30count, NDC# 54092-554-30, Lot#: 33988, 34174, 34175
• Daytrana 30mg – 30count, NDC# 54092-555-30, Lot#: 33990, 34179

The following lot is being withdrawn from the market:

• Daytrana 30mg – 30count, NDC# 54092-555-30, Lot#: 33991

Daytrana is indicated for the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children 6–12 years of age.
