The FDA and McNeil Consumer Healthcare have notified healthcare professionals of a voluntary recall of certain over-the-counter (OTC) Children’s and Infant’s liquid Tylenol, Motrin, Zyrtec, and Benadryl products. These products are being recalled because they may not meet required quality standards and not on the basis of adverse medical events. Some of the products included in the recall may contain a higher concentration of active ingredient than is specified, others may contain inactive ingredients that may not meet internal testing requirements, and others may contain tiny particles. Healthcare providers and parents are advised not to administer the recalled products to children.
A full listing of the recalled products can be found at www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/ucm210443.htm.
