C. B. Fleet recalls Fleet Phospho-soda products

C. B. Fleet has voluntarily recalled their over-the-counter products, Fleet Phospho-soda and Fleet Phospho-soda EZ-Prep Bowel Cleansing System, due to an FDA decision that oral sodium phosphate (OSP) products should be available by prescription only. The FDA recently issued a safety alert about the risk associated with the use of OSP products prior to medical procedures such as colonoscopy.

The FDA has recommended that healthcare providers not direct their patients to use these OTC products for bowel cleansing. C.B. Fleet is requesting that consumers not purchase these products for bowel cleansing and to contact their physicians for alternatives if their physician has recommended their use for this purpose.
