Suclear, a New Bowel Prep, Launched
Braintree Laboratories announced the introduction of Suclear (sodium sulfate, potassium sulfate, and magnesium sulfate oral solution; and PEG-3350, sodium chloride, sodium bicarbonate, and potassium chloride for oral solution), a new bowel prep product. Suclear provides the flexibility of either same-day (1-Day) or split-dose (2-Day) dosing regimens.
Suclear is a combination of osmotic laxatives and is indicated for colon cleansing in preparation for colonoscopy in adults. Sulfate salts provide sulfate anions, which are poorly absorbed. The osmotic effect of unabsorbed sulfate anions and the associated cations causes water to be retained within the gastrointestinal tract. PEG is also a largely unabsorbed osmotic agent which causes water to be retained within the gastrointestinal tract.
The Suclear Kit contains the liquid (berry flavored) and powdered bowel prep, a mixing container, and four flavor packs (cherry, lemon-lime, orange, and pineapple).
