Novolin insulin delivery devices to be discontinuedNovo Nordisk has informed healthcare professionals and pharmacies that it is discontinuing Novolin R (regular insulin [recombinant]) InnoLet, Novolin N (insulin isophane suspension [recombinant]) InnoLet, and Novolin 70/30 (insulin isophane 70% [recombinant], regular insulin 30% [recombinant]) InnoLet disposable insulin pens and Novolin R PenFill, Novolin N PenFill, and Novolin 70/30 PenFill 3mL insulin cartridges. The specific products to be discontinued include:
Novolin R InnoLet: NDC# 0169-2313-21
Novolin N InnoLet: NDC# 0169-2314-21
Novolin 70/30 InnoLet: NDC# 0169-2317-21
Novolin R PenFill: NDC# 0169-3473-18
Novolin N PenFill: NDC# 0169-3474-18
Novolin 70/30 PenFill: NDC# 0169-3477-18
Pharmacies may continue to stock Novolin InnoLet disposable insulin pens and Novolin PenFill 3mL insulin cartridges, but they will not receive any new inventory. The final date of sale of the products is December 31, 2009. Patients who use these insulin delivery devices should contact their healthcare professional to switch to alternate insulin delivery options.
