Morning Sun Exposure for Weight Loss

In the current issue of the journal PLOS ONE, researchers found that people who were exposed to natural light early in the day had a lower BMI compared to those who received most of their exposure in the late afternoon, even when controlling for diet and exercise. The morning light exposure could come from many sources, including car windows or an outside walk between 8 a.m. and noon. Exposure to brighter light later in the day or at night has been linked to an increased risk of obesity.
