Lotemax Gel Launched; Treats Post-Op Ocular Pain, Inflammation
Bausch & Lomb announced the launch of Lotemax Gel (loteprednol etabonate) 0.5%. Lotemax is a corticosteroid indicated for the treatment of post-operative inflammation and pain following ocular surgery.
Lotemax Gel features mucoadhesive technology to adhere to the ocular surface. In addition, no shaking is required to resuspend the drug due to dose uniformity. Lotemax Gel also contains ~70% less preservative than Lotemax suspension and contains two moisturizers. It also is in a state of natural pH (6.0–6.5), which is close to human tears.
Lotemax Gel 0.5% is available as a 5g fill in a 10mL bottle. Other Lotemax products include Lotemax Ointment 0.5% and Lotemax Suspension 0.5%.
