Kaléo announced that Auvi-Q (epinephrine injection) Auto-injector will be available in pharmacies beginning February 14th.
Auvi-Q Auto-injector is approved to treat life-threatening allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis, in patients who are at risk for or have a history of serious allergic reactions. The epinephrine auto-injector features voice instructions that guide the user with step-by-step instructions through the delivery process. It also features an automatic retractable needle system that retracts the needle back into the device within seconds of administration.
The Company also announced a first-of-its-kind access program, Auvi-Q Afford Ability, which will provide patients with commercial insurance an out-of-pocket cost of $0. For patients without government or commercial insurance who have a household income of less than $100,000, Auvi-Q will be available free of charge; the cash price for Auvi-Q is $360. Auvi-Q will also be available as a direct delivery service.
Auvi-Q will be available as 0.15mg and 0.3mg strength auto-injectors. Each package contains 2 auto-injectors and 1 trainer injector.
