Warfarin is a coumarin anticoagulant indicated to treat venous thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, thromboembolic complications from atrial fibrillation and/or cardiac valve replacement, and to reduce risk of death, recurrent MIs, and thromboembolic events (eg, stroke, systemic embolization) post-MI.
