Silenor approved for insomnia

The FDA has approved Silenor (doxepin tablets, from Somaxon Pharmaceuticals) for the treatment of insomnia characterized by difficulty with sleep maintenance. Silenor is not a controlled substance and will be available by prescription in 3mg and 6mg dosage strengths in the 2nd half of 2010.
