Pennsaid Topical Solution approved for osteoarthritis of the knee

The FDA has approved Pennsaid Topical Solution (diclofenac sodium topical solution, from Covidien and Nuvo Research), a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), for the treatment of the signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis of the knee.

Pennsaid Topical Solution is expected to be made available in the first half of 2010.
