Pennsaid available for treatment of osteoarthritis

Nuvo Research announced that Pennsaid (diclofenac sodium topical solution) 1.5% w/w, is now available by prescription for the treatment of the signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis of the knee(s).  It is being marketed in the U.S. by Mallinckrodt, a subsidiary of Covidien. Pennsaid is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that was first approved by the FDA in November 2009.
