OTC Nasacort Allergy 24hr Nasal Spray Now Available

Sanofi and its consumer healthcare division Chattem announced that Nasacort (triamcinolone acetonide) Allergy 24hr Nasal Spray is now available over-the-counter (OTC). Nasacort is used to relieve a range of seasonal and year-round nasal allergy symptoms, including nasal congestion, in adults and children >2 years of age.

Triamcinolone acetonide is a corticosteroid that has been shown to have a wide range of actions on multiple cell types and mediators involved in inflammation.

Nasacort was approved for the switch from prescription to OTC by the FDA on October 11, 2013. It is now available in stores nationwide at the same strength of 55mcg/spray as the prescription Nasacort spray in 60- and 120-metered dose sprays.
