Novel Tear-Infused Design Contact Lenses Launched

Johnson & Johnson Vision Care announced the launch of Acuvue Oasys 1-Day with HydraLuxe Technology contact lenses that feature a new tear-infused design.

Different from water-gradient designs, a tear-infused lens has a smoother surface and consists of a uniform lens composition. The tear-infused material integrates with the wearers’ own tear film daily. The tear-like molecules mimic mucins that lubricate and moisturize the eye, and help support a stable tear film during daily activities. Also, it comes with an electrolyte-balanced packaging solution to mimic human tears.

The lenses are designed with an increased diameter to ensure full corneal limbus coverage while blinking. The larger optics also help wearers to see clearly even when their pupils may be dilated in low-light. The lenses also have the highest level of UV blocking available to help shield the eye.

Acuvue Oasys 1-Day with HydraLuxe Technology lenses will launch in 2016.
