Allergan announced the launch of Refresh® Digital lubricant eye drops to relieve mild to moderate symptoms of eye dryness and irritation that may occur from prolonged screen time.

“When looking at screens for prolonged periods of time, we tend to blink less completely, and our blink rate is often cut in half,” said optometrist Dr Selina McGee, Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. “This causes eyes to miss out on the much-needed hydration from natural tears, which then leads to eye dryness, burning, irritation, or discomfort.”

Formulated using the Company’s proprietary HydroCell™ technology, Refresh Digital is designed to protect tears from evaporating due to incomplete blinking during digital device use. The active ingredients include carboxymethylcellulose sodium (0.5%), glycerin (1%), and polysorbate 80 (0.5%).

The product is supplied in multidose bottles and single-use, preservative-free vials and is available online and at retail locations nationwide.
