The approval of Naftin Gel 2% is based on results from two clinical trials involving 47 investigational sites and 1,715 adult patients. The results showed that patients treated with Naftin Gel 2% experienced clinically significant cure rates when compared to placebo.
Naftin Gel 2% also demonstrated continuous improvement in post-treatment efficacy rates for up to 4 weeks after ending treatment. Naftin was shown to exhibit fungicidal activity against a broad spectrum of dermatophytes, as well as clinically significant antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects.
Naftin Gel 2% is available in a 45g tube. Naftin is already available in a 1% strength cream and gel indicated for the treatment of tinea pedis, tinea cruris, and tinea corporis infections.
