Duchesnay announced the launch of Mteryti and Mteryti folic 5 products to help optimize iron, calcium, and folic acid absorption for prenatal use.
Mteryti and Mteryti folic 5 both provide a 2-part MultiVitamin/MultiMineral supplement regimen for women that have different needs of folic acid. Mteryti contains 1.1mg of folic acid and is specially indicated for use in women 2-3 months prior to conception, throughout pregnancy, and post-delivery. Mteryti folic 5 contains 5mg of folic acid and is specially indicated for use in women at higher risk for a neural tube defect (NTD)-affected pregnancy. It is intended for use 2-3 months prior to pregnancy and until 10-12 weeks of gestation.
The unique AM and PM tablet regimen help tailor optimal iron, calcium, and folic acid absorption. The AM tablets contain a total of 13 supplements, including iron and vitamin C. The PM tablets contain 4 additional supplements, including calcium and folic acid to avoid iron interactions. The separated iron and calcium components may result in less constipation, nausea, and vomiting that is often seen with similar supplements. The individualized sealed blister packs remove unpleasant smells and keeps track of daily dose.
Mteryti and Mteryti folic 5 are supplied as a 30-day blister pack containing 30 pink (AM) tablet and 30 blue (PM) tablets. The products are lactose-, gluten-, and tartrazine-free.
