The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is reporting a current backorder status for Transderm Scop (scopolamine; Sandoz) 1.5mg patches. Transderm Scop is an anticholinergic indicated to prevent motion sickness and post-operative nausea and vomiting in adults.
Transderm 1.5mg 4-count patches are on intermittent backorder that is expected to last until early December 2016. The Company has reported a delay in shipping of the drug resulting in the shortage.
Transderm 1.5mg 10-count patches are on intermittent backorder that is expected to last until early December 2016. The Company has reported an increased demand for the drug resulting in the shortage.
Transderm 1.5mg 24-count patches are currently unavailable. Availability is expected to resume approximately mid-October 2016 with limited supply until early December 2016. The Company has reported the shortage to be due to requirements related to complying with good manufacturing practices.
