The shortage began on January 23, 2015, and was projected to last 4–6 months. However, in September 2015, the FDA announced that the 30- and 90-count bottles of Bystolic 20mg were still on backorder and unavailable. Forest had attributed the manufacturing delay to commercial stability data.
As of March 1, 2016, the following packaging is available again:
- 20mg bottle of 30 (NDC 0456-1420-30)
- 20mg bottle of 90 (NDC 0456-1420-90)
- 20mg bottle of 100 (NDC 0456-1420-01)
- 20mg 10 x 10 unit dose (NDC 0456-1420-63)
