Teva Launches Generic Benicar, Benicar HCT

Teva announced the launch of Olmesartan Medoxomil Tablets, the generic version of Daiichi Sanko‘s Benicar and Olmesartan Medoxomil and Hydrocholorthiazide Tablets, the generic version of Benicar HCT. 

Olmesartan Medoxomil is indicated for the treatment of hypertension, alone or with other antihypertensive agents, to lower blood pressure. Olmesartan Medoxomil and Hydrochlorothiazide is indicated for the treatment of hypertension to lower blood pressure; it is not indicated for the initial therapy of hypertension. 

Olmesartan Medoxomil is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). Olmesartan Medoxomil and Hydrochlorothiazide combines an ARB with a thiazide diuretic. 

Olmesartan Medoxomil Tablets are available as a 5mg strength in 30-count bottles, and 20mg and 40mg strengths in 30- and 90-count bottles. Olmesartan Medoxomil and Hydrochlorothiazide Tablets are available as 20mg/12.5mg, 40mg/12.5mg, and 40mg/25mg strengths in 30- and 90-count bottles.
