Teva announced the launch of Sildenafil Citrate Tablets, the generic version of Viagra (Pfizer), indicated for the treatment of erectile dysfunction.

Sildenafil is a phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE5) inhibitor that enhances the effect of nitric oxide, which is responsible for degradation of cGMP in the corpus cavernosum.
