Perrigo Tentatively Approved for Generic Suprep

Perrigo announced that it has received tentative approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for Sodium Sulfate/Potassium Sulfate/Magnesium Sulfate Oral Solution, the generic version of Braintree Laboratories’ Suprep. 

Suprep is indicated for the treatment of cleansing the colon in preparation for colonoscopy in adults. Sulfate salts provide sulfate anions, which are poorly absorbed. The osmotic effect of unabsorbed sulfate anions and the associated cations causes water to be retained within the gastrointestinal tract. When ingested with a large volume of water, produces a copious watery diarrhea. 

Each kit contains 2 bottles of oral solution and 1 mixing container.
