Perrigo announced the launch of Methazolamide Tablets, the generic version of Fera’s Neptazane.

Methazolamide is a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor indicated for the treatment of ocular conditions where lowering intraocular pressure would be of therapeutic benefit (eg, chronic open-angle glaucoma, secondary glaucoma, pre-op in acute angle-closure glaucoma). Its inhibitory action on carbonic anhydrase decreases the secretion of aqueous humor and results in a decrease in intraocular pressure.
