Newly Approved Ophthalmic Phenylephrine HCl Available

Paragon BioTeck announced it has received FDA approval for Phenylephrine HCl Ophthalmic Solution, USP, to dilate the pupil.

Phenylephrine HCl is an alpha-1 receptor agonist which acts as a potent vasoconstrictor and mydriatic. When instilled into the eye, Phenylephrine constricts ophthalmic blood vessels and the radial muscle of the iris, causing mydriasis.

Phenylephrine HCl Ophthalmic Solution is available in 2.5% (15mL) and 10% (5mL) strengths. These products are now available through Bausch + Lomb.
