Mylan Launches Generic Micronor Tablets

Mylan announced that the FDA has approved its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) for Norethindrone Tablets, the generic version of Janssen’s Micronor.

Micronor is a progestin-only oral contraceptive indicated for the prevention of pregnancy. Micronor prevents conception by suppressing ovulation, thickening the cervical mucus to inhibit sperm penetration, lowering the midcycle LH and FSH peaks, slowing the movement of ovum through the fallopian tubes, and altering the endometrium.

Norethindrone Tablets are available in a 0.35mg dosage strength as 28-Day Cycle packs.
