Mylan announced its launch of Potassium Chloride Extended-Release Tablets, the generic version of Upsher-Smith’s Klor-Con.

Klor-Con is indicated for the treatment of hypokalemia, with or without metabolic alkalosis, in digitalis intoxication, and in hypokalemic familial periodic paralysis. The potassium ions participate in a number of physiological processes including the maintenance of intracellular tonicity, the transmission of nerve impulses, the contraction of cardiac, skeletal, and smooth muscle, and the maintenance of normal renal function.
