Mylan announced the launch of Disulfiram Tablets, the generic version of Odyssey’s Antabuse.

Antabuse is an alcohol deterrent indicated as adjunct in management of chronic alcoholic patients who want to remain sober so that supportive and psychotherapeutic treatment may be applied to the best advantage. Disulfiram produces a sensitivity to alcohol which results in a highly unpleasant reaction when the patient under treatment ingests even small amounts of alcohol. It works by blocking the oxidation of alcohol at the acetaldehyde stage.
