Mylan announced the launch of the Montelukast Sodium Tablets and Chewable Tablets, the generic version of Merck‘s Singulair. Mylan has already begun shipping Montelukast Sodium Tablets 10mg and Montelukast Sodium Chewable Tablets in 4mg and 5mg dosage strengths.
Dr. Reddy’s also announced its launch of Montelukast Sodium Tablets and Chewable Tablets. Dr. Reddy’s Montelukast Sodium Tablets in 10mg and Montelukast Sodium Chewable Tablets in 4mg and 5mg are available in 30- and 90-count bottles.
Singulair is indicated in seasonal allergic rhinitis for patients ≥2 years old and in perennial allergic rhinitis for patients ≥6 months old. It is also indicated in the prophylaxis and chronic treatment of asthma for patients ≥12 months old and the prevention of exercise-induced bronchoconstriction (EIB) for patients ≥15yrs old.
