Hi-Tech Pharmacal Approved for Generic Bromday

Hi-Tech Pharmacal announced that the FDA has granted final approval for its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) for Bromfenac Ophthalmic Solution, 0.09%, the generic version of ISTA’s Bromday.

Bromfenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) indicated for the treatment of postoperative inflammation and reduction of ocular pain in patients who have undergone cataract surgery. The mechanism of its action is thought to be due to its ability to block prostaglandin synthesis by inhibiting cyclooxygenase 1 and 2.

Hi-Tech Pharmacal plans to launch this product immediately.
