Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories announced the launch of Duloxetine Delayed-Release Capsules, the generic version of Eli Lilly’s Cymbalta.
Duloxetine is a serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor indicated for generalized anxiety disorder, fibromyalgia, major depressive disorder, chronic musculoskeletal pain (eg, low back pain, osteoarthritis pain), and diabetic peripheral neuropathic pain. The exact mechanisms of duloxetine are unknown but they are believed to be related to the potentiation of serotonergic and noradrenergic activity in the CNS.
