BD announced the launch of Metoclopramide Injection, the second drug to be offered in the BD Simplist ready-to-administer line of prefilled generic injectables. Metoclopramide is an antiemetic that works by stimulating motility of the upper GI tract without stimulating gastric, biliary, or pancreatic secretions.
The first product to be offered in the BD Simplist line was Diphenhydramine HCl Injection on March 27, 2013.
Metoclopramide Injection will be available as a 5mg/mL strength in a 2mL prefilled single-use syringe in a 24-count carton. BD Simplist prefilled injectables will be commercialized and manufactured by BD Rx Inc. BD Rx plans to launch 20–30 prefilled injectables over the next few years.
