Amneal announced the launch of Lopreeza (estradiol and norethindrone acetate) tablets, the generic version of Novo Nordisk’s Activella.
Activella is a combination of estrogen and progestin indicated for moderate to severe vasomotor symptoms of menopause; vulvar and vaginal atrophy; and prevention of postmenopausal osteoporosis in women with an intact uterus.

Circulating estrogens modulate the pituitary secretion of the gonadotropins, luteinizing hormone (LH), and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) through a negative feedback mechanism. Estrogens act to reduce the elevated levels of these hormones seen in postmenopausal women. Progestins exert their effects in target cells by binding to specific progesterone receptors that interact with progesterone response elements in target genes.
Lopreeza is available in 0.5mg/0.1mg and 1mg/0.5mg strengths in 28-count dialpack dispensers.
