Amneal announced the launch of four new generic medications: Acyclovir Ointment, Atovaquone Oral Suspension, Clindamycin Palmitate HCl for Oral Solution (Pediatric), and Oxycodone HCl Tablets.

Acyclovir Ointment, the generic version of Valeant’s Zovirax, is indicated for initial herpes genitalis, and for limited non-life threatening mucocutaneous herpes simplex infections in immunocompromised patients. It is available as a 5% strength ointment in 30g tubes.

Atovaquone Oral Suspension, the generic version of GlaxoSmithKline’s Mepron, is indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate Pneumocystis cariniipneumonia (PCP) in patients intolerant to trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole (TMP/SMX), and for the prevention of PCP in patients intolerant to TMP/SMX. It is available in a citrus flavored 750mg/5mL suspension in 210mL (8 floz) bottles.

Clindamycin Palmitate HCl for Oral Solution (Pediatric), the generic version of Pfizer’s Cleocin Pediatric, is indicated for serious susceptible infections where less toxic antibiotics are inappropriate, including respiratory, skin and soft tissue, septicemia, intraabdominal, female pelvic or genital; bone and joint (inj). It is available in a 75mg/5mL strength powder for reconstitution.

Oxycodone HCl Tablets is a Class II substance indicated for the management of acute and chronic moderate to severe pain. It is available in 5mg, 10mg, 15mg, 20mg, and 30mg strengths in 100-count bottles.
