Biocodex has launched FlorastorBaby, a daily probiotic supplement for infants to help with natural digestion.
FlorastorBaby contains Saccharomyces boulardii lyo CNCM I-745, the same active probiotic strain included in Florastor and Florastor Kids; FlorastorBaby is intended for infants who are at least 2 months old.
FlorastorBaby is supplied in a powder formulation and is designed to be mixed into, “any cool beverage or semi-solid food such as breast milk, baby formula, or pureed/ strained foods,” according to the Company. The product does not contain any added dyes or flavoring and is gluten-free.
Dietary supplements containing probiotics do not require Food and Drug Administration approval before they are marketed as they are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. The Company acknowledges that their claims (digestive and immune system support) have not been evaluated by the FDA.
