GSK Consumer Healthcare announced the availability of Flonase Sensimist Allergy Relief (fluticasone furoate), an over-the-counter (OTC) treatment for symptoms associated with seasonal and perennial allergies for patients aged 2 years of age and older.
The spray features a short nozzle and utilizes MistPro technology allowing it to deliver a fine mist spray with virtually no drip. It provides non-drowsy, 24-hour relief of allergy symptoms such as nasal congestion, runny or itchy nose, and sneezing, and itchy, watery eyes (for ages 12 and older).
When compared to fexofenadine 180mg, an oral allergy treatment, Flonase Sensimist was shown to be 40% more effective in the relief of total nasal symptoms.
Flonase Sensimist is scent- and alcohol-free and is supplied as a 27.5mcg strength in 60- and 120-spray bottles. It is available online and at major retail stores.
