Finesse insulin patch-pen approved for use with Novolog

The FDA has approved Finesse, an insulin patch-pen from Calibra Medical, for up to three-day use with Novolog (insulin aspart, from Novo Nordisk). Finesse is a bolus-only, adhesively attached, flat plastic patch-pen device that measures approximately 2 inches long, one inch wide, and one-quarter inch thick. Finesse may be filled with up to three days of insulin. It is designed to be worn on the skin like a bandage and delivers insulin through a flexible plastic tube that is inserted into the skin after the device is filled. Finesse is already approved for use with Humalog (insulin lispro, from Lilly).
