FDA approves Anthelios 40 sunscreen

Anthelios 40

La Roche-Posay’s Anthelios 40 sunscreen, formulated with Mexoryl SX, has received FDA approval for UVA and UVB protection. Mexoryl SX is a photo-stable sunscreen filter designed to protect the skin from short UVA waves and has been shown to maintain activity for up to five hours in laboratory testing. Anthelios 40 combines Mexoryl SX with titanium dioxide, avobenzone and octocrylene to provide broad spectrum protection. Anthelios 40 has been specifically safety-tested for those with the photosensitive skin disorder, Polymorphous Light Eruption (PMLE).

Anthelios 40 is expected to be available in late spring 2008.
