Splendid Cities: Color Your Way to Calm

A recent study published in the journal Anxiety Stress, & Coping showed that for college-aged students, art-making may be an effective way of reducing stress. Forty-seven students were enrolled in the study prior to their final exams. Both subjective (self-reported anxiety) and objective (heart rate variability) measures were used to assess the effectiveness of 30-minute periods of art making (free-form painting, mandala coloring, clay modeling) vs. control sessions.
