Indications for VISTARIL:

Allergic pruritus.

Adult Dose for VISTARIL:

25mg 3–4 times daily.

Children's Dose for VISTARIL:

<6yrs: 50mg daily. ≥6yrs: 50–100mg daily. Both in divided doses.

Pharmacological Class:

Antihistamine.

Contraindications:

Early pregnancy. Nursing mothers.

Warnings/Precautions:

Elderly.

Interactions:

Potentiates CNS depression with alcohol, other CNS depressants (eg, meperidine, barbiturates).

Adverse Reactions:

Drowsiness, dry mouth, tremor, convulsions.
