Therapeutic Use:

Indications for TUMS:

Acid indigestion, heartburn, upset or sour stomach.

Adult Dose for TUMS:

2–4 tabs as symptoms occur; max 15 tabs/day for 2 weeks.

Children's Dose for TUMS:

Not recommended.

Warnings/Precautions:

Hypoparathyroidism.

Interactions:

Calcium blocks absorption of tetracyclines. May affect absorption of other drugs. Absorption blocked by corticosteroids, foods such as rhubarb, spinach, bran.

Adverse Reactions:

Hypercalcemia, hypercalciuria.
