The FDA is advising consumers not to buy or use Jimpness Beauty Fat Loss Capsules after it was found to contain sibutramine, phenolphthalein, and sildenafil.

Sibutramine is a controlled substance that was removed from the market in October 2010 for safety reasons

Sibutramine is known to increase blood pressure and/or pulse rate and may pose a significant risk for patients with a history of coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, or stroke. Sibutramine may also interact with other medications a consumer may be taking.

Phenolphthalein was an ingredient in some over-the-counter (OTC) laxative products until 1999, when FDA reclassified the ingredient as “not generally recognized as safe and effective.”

Sildenafil is the active ingredient in Viagra (Pfizer) that is used to treat erectile dysfunction. It may interact with nitrates found in drugs such as nitroglycerin, and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels. This may pose a risk to men with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or heart disease who often take nitrates.

Jimpness Beauty Fat Loss Capsules are sold on various websites, including Jimpness.net. Consumers are recommended to discontinue its use immediately and to throw it away.
