Supplement Found to Contain Undeclared Sildenafil

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is advising consumers to not buy or use Happy Passengers, a product promoted and sold for sexual enhancement.

FDA laboratory analysis confirmed the undeclared presence of sildenafil in the supplement. Sildenafil is the active ingredient in Viagra (Pfizer), an FDA-approved drug used to treat erectile dysfunction. Sildenafil may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs such as nitroglycerin; this may result in lowered blood pressure to dangerous levels. Nitrates are often taken by male patients with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or heart disease.
