SAFETY ALERT: FDA Warns of Counterfeit ExtenZe Dietary Supplements

Share this content:
The FDA is warning consumers of a counterfeit product represented as “ExtenZe,” an authentic dietary supplement for male sexual enhancement. The counterfeit ExtenZe looks similar to the actual product, but contains undeclared tadalafil, or a combination of tadalafil and sildenafil --active ingredients that can cause serious harm to consumers.  The counterfeit product has the following lot numbers on the packages: Lot 1110075 and F050899.

Tadalafil and sildenafil are FDA-approved medicines for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. These medicines may interact with other medicines (eg, nitrates) found in some prescription medicines and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels. Men with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or heart disease often take nitrates.

Consumers who have the counterfeit products in their possession should stop using them immediately and contact their healthcare professional if they experience any adverse effects that may be related to use of the product.
